Book Week!  Reading books is a FUN adventure! Last week, the Clever Caterpillars participated in a range of integrated activities  to celebrate Book Week. The activities included:  Drawing a portrait of their favourite book character. Delivering a 5 minute presentation about their favourite book character to their peers. Planning, designing and creating a picture of their favourite place to escape to. Writing about their favourite place to escape to. Reading with their buddies in class. Term Three Learning Outcomes In the classroom, the students are learning to: Mathematics Skills  Number and Algebra Orally count to 200 and from 100 from any starting point. Orally count starting from 0 by 2s to 100. Identify odd and even numbers to 20. Read and understand basic facts to 20 (addition and subtraction)  Represent and solve simple addition and subtraction problems to 40 using concrete materials, illustrations and counting on. Count collections to 100 or more by partitioning numbers using place value. Accurately share and group objects equally. Understand and describe the concept of one-half as part of a whole. ·          Measurement and Geometry Measure and compare capacity using uniform informal units. Tell the time (hour and half hour). Give and follow specific directions to familiar locations (positional words, clockwise/anticlockwise). Statistics and Probability Choose simple questions and gather responses to

Book Week Parade  On the 25th August (Friday) , the students will be participating in a Book Week Parade. The students need to dress up as their favourite book character . All students are encouraged to bring a copy of their book to the parade. I look forward to seeing all the wonderful costumes ☺☺☺ If you have any questions, please come and see me. An amazing assembly!  Our Earth Show: The Four Seasons Congratulations to the students for putting on an OUTSTANDING assembly. The students remembered their lines, sang beautifully, performed their actions and displayed wonderful manners. All the students looked stunning in their costumes! Welcome to Term Three! Introduction The Clever Caterpillars have had a wonderful start to Term Three.  The students have settled into their new home teams and continue to give 120% effort towards their learning.  Over the last four weeks, the students have been involved in many exciting events... Year Level Challenge Presentation On the 21st of July, the students attended a whole school assembly. At the assembly, the results for the Term Two Year Level Challenge were announced.  Congratulations to Laylah, Amelia and Kyan for being in the Top Five Year One students.  Well done to Kyan for achieving 100% on the Year One Challenge.  I am very proud of you all.  100 Days of Year One On the 25th of July, the students celebrated 100 days in Year One.  The student participated in a range of learning activities. These included:  100 Day Puzzles, Bookmarks and Reflection Sheets Superhero Moves        100 Steps Walk
