This is the way to make zero. 1:  A straight line one it is fun.  2:  Around and back on the railway track makes two, two, two.  3:  Around the tree and around the tree. This is the way you make a three. 4:  Down and across and down some more. This is the way you make a four. 5:  With a straight neck and a round tummy, put his hat on, five sure looks funny! 6:  Down to a loop, the six rolls a hoop.  7:  Across the sky and straight down. This is the way you make a seven.  8:  Make an “S” and do not wait. Climb back up to make an eight. 9:  A loop and a line makes a nine.     Kind regards Miss Ryan

Melting Chocolate Experiment Physical Changes Last Friday, the children participated in a science experiment about melting and cooling chocolate.  Steps Step 1 : The children used their five senses to describe what a small piece of chocolate looked, felt, smelt and (finally) tasted like! Step 2: The children predicted what will happen when the chocolate is heated by the sunlight. Step 3: After the chocolate had melted, the children put the chocolate in the fridge to cool.  Step 4: The children checked on the chocolate in the fridge and shared their observations with the class.  Throughout the lesson, the children recorded and described their observations in their Mini Scientist Booklets.  What did the children learn? Science Investigating Terms Observation: Something you have noticed, using one or more of your senses. Prediction: Your thoughts on what you THINK will happen

Room 7's Scientists   Science Investigation Thank you to all the children for bringing in an item for their science investigations. During the investigations, the children learnt: ·        All materials have properties. The properties tell us more about an item’s shape, colour, size, texture, appearance and smell. ·        Materials can change in different ways. They can be heated, melted, cooled, frozen, stretched, dissolved, mixed, cut, boiled and moulded. ·        Materials can change shape, size, colour and temperature. ·        When a change can be undone, it is called a physical change. ·        When a change can not be undone, it is called a chemical change . Kind regards Miss Ryan
