Term Three Learning Outcomes

In the classroom, the students are learning to:


Mathematics Skills 

Number and Algebra

  • Orally count to 200 and from 100 from any starting point.
  • Orally count starting from 0 by 2s to 100.
  • Identify odd and even numbers to 20.
  • Read and understand basic facts to 20 (addition and subtraction) 
  • Represent and solve simple addition and subtraction problems to 40 using concrete materials, illustrations and counting on.
  • Count collections to 100 or more by partitioning numbers using place value.
  • Accurately share and group objects equally.
  • Understand and describe the concept of one-half as part of a whole.

·        Measurement and Geometry

  • Measure and compare capacity using uniform informal units.
  • Tell the time (hour and half hour).
  • Give and follow specific directions to familiar locations (positional words, clockwise/anticlockwise).

Statistics and Probability

  • Choose simple questions and gather responses to collect data.
  • Draw simple data displays. 
  • Represent data with objects and drawings (one to one correspondence).
     
   English Skills

  • Identify split digraphs, which is when 'Bossy e' bosses the vowel to say its name (a-e, e-e, i-e, o-e and u-e).
  • Recognise the first 200 high frequency words (fast and consistent).
  • Use nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives correctly in sentences.
  • Be aware of homographs and homophones.
  • Spell the first 150 high frequency words.
  • Write procedures, with neat writing and approximately one page in length.
  • Use full stops, capital letters, question marks and exclamation marks appropriately. 


WOW Writing: The students’ procedure texts on how to make their favourite sandwiches. 

  • Apply basic proof reading and editing skills.
  • Recreate texts imaginatively using performances and digital forms of communication.
