Clever Caterpillars

Book Week!  Reading books is a FUN adventure! Last week, the Clever Caterpillars participated in a range of integrated activities  to celebrate Book Week. The activities included:  Drawing a portrait of their favourite book character. Delivering a 5 minute presentation about their favourite book character to their peers. Planning, designing and creating a picture of their favourite place to escape to. Writing about their favourite place to escape to. Reading with their buddies in class. Term Three Learning Outcomes In the classroom, the students are learning to: Mathematics Skills  Number and Algebra Orally count to 200 and from 100 from any starting point. Orally count starting from 0 by 2s to 100. Identify odd and even numbers to 20. Read and understand basic facts to 20 (addition and subtraction)  Represent and solve simple addition and subtraction problems to 40 using concrete materials, illustrations and counting on. Count collections to 100 or more by partitioning numbers using place value. Accurately share and group objects equally. Book Week Parade  On the 25th August (Friday) , the students will be participating in a Book Week Parade. The students need to dress up as their favourite book character .
