What skills to revise during the holidays? During the holidays, I will like you to reinforce the following skills with your child. Mathematics Skills  Number and Algebra Orally count to 200 and from 100 from any starting point. Orally counting from 0 by 2s to 100. Knowing and using ordinal numbers from 1st to 31st.. Identifying odd and even numbers to 20.  Reading and understanding basic facts to 20 (addition and subtraction). Representing and solving simple addition and subtraction problems to 30 using concrete m aterials, illustrations, counting on, counting back and number bonds.  Measurement and Geometry Knowing the duration of an hour, day, week and month. Telling the time (hour and half hour). Recognising and classify 3D shapes using basic attributes and features. Statistics and Probability Choosing simple questions and gathering responses to collect data. Draw simple data displays. Representing data with objects and

Classroom Project As part of our STEM, Science, HASS and Technology and Enterprise Integrated Program, the students planned and created a landscape diorama. Each student: Step 1 . Selected a landscape to make (i.e. farm, park, city, bush etc) Step  2 . Brainstormed a list of natural and built features to include in their landscape (Students had to use three natural and three built features in their diorama). Step  3 . Decided on what colours they needed to paint their box, what things they needed to make to place into the box and what materials they needed to make their features.  Step  4 . Created their landscape diorama. Step  5. Reflected on how similar their landscape diorama was to their plan. Congratulations to all the students on their wonderful projects! Terrific Term Two! Over the last ten weeks, the students have progressed in many areas of development including academic, creative, physical and social and emotional. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the students become responsible for their learning. In Term Two, the students were involved in some exciting events... WA Week  As part of the school's celebration of WA Day, each student was asked to design a post card showcasing an aspect of Western Australia for their buddy.   Life Education Van The students attended a session called 'Harold's Friendships' in the Life Education Van. They learnt about qualities of a good friend, feelings and emotions, early warning signs, and safe and unsafe situations.    Super Scientist Competition The students were invited to present a short science experiment or report on a science related topic to their peers.
