Week 11 Room 7 Blog Post Hello everyone and welcome to the final week of Term Two! The Clever Caterpillars in Room 7 have worked very hard this term and I am so proud of their efforts. Literacy focus: All students in Room 7 would benefit from daily reading over the school holidays. By simply asking your child to write one or two sentences about each book they read, we can continue to develop their sentence structure and reading comprehension skills. A focus for our Clever Caterpillars is to use capital letters correctly, apply the correct punctuation (. ! or ?), and to make sure each sentence makes sense (contains a subject and a verb). I have included new High Frequency Word lists in most student’s practice folders. Feel free to highlight any words students can read without sounding out, and to continue to practise any words they are still sounding out. This will help them read with fluency.
